Eliza was born in Fitzroy Township, Ontario, Canada. Her father died when she was eight, and her mother a year later. Eliza immigrated to Kansas from Ontario, 1872. Age 12, she went to Kansas with her sister Letitia Sullivan and brother Francis Hunt. They lived at a farm on the river south of Valley Center.
Eliza Ann married William E Brook on February 29, 1881. In 1918, Eliza and her husband moved to Valley Center, and to Wichita in 1920. She was survived by four sons: Cecil in Maize, Alden in Rogue River, Oregon, Charles in Bentley, and William in Oklahoma City, and three daughters: Allie in Roseburg, Oregon, Lena in Wichita, and Sarah lived at home.
