James was born about 7 Mar 1846 in Georgia. He was the son of Waddy Thorpe Hunt and Melissa Abby (Kelly) Hunt. He died on 15 Jan 1911 in Anna, Union, Illinois.
He never married. He was a Civl War veteran. He was a prisoner-of-war at Little Rock, Ark., suffered great deprivations. He died at Anna State Hospital in Anna, Ill.
Survived by his mother, sister and 3 brothers, not named. Burial was in Blankenship Cemetery - He shares headstone with his mother Malissa H Hunt (1824-1915
