Edmond Pendleton Hunter was born on March 25, 1809, son of David Hunter (1761–1829) and Elizabeth Pendleton (1774–1825).

Edmond died on September 9, 1854 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, Commonwealth of Virginia, aged 45. He was buried in Norbourne Parish Cemetery, Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.[1]
