Isabella Hunter was born in 1840.[1] She was the daughter of James Hunter and Mary McCafferty of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Isabella Hunter was married to Richard Brokaw circa 1859.[2][3] The couple were enumerated in the 1860 Census with a young daughter under the age of one year. By 1870, the family had expanded to include five children aged 10 and under.[4][5]
