The passing of Lewis Edwin Hunter, beloved husband of Jean (Hartley) Hunter of Astle, NB, occurred on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Hayesville, NB on May 8, 1933 he was a son of the late Vincent and Lillian (Palmer) Hunter. Lewis was a woodsman and fishing guide. He loved horses, was a past member of the Miramichi Horseman’s Club and a member of the Miramichi Salmon Association. Lewis was a member of Boiestown United Church. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Lewis is survived by his children, Carl Hunter (Mary) of Astle , NB, Laura Hunter of Fredericton, NB, John Hunter (Sue) of Astle, NB and Joe Hunter (Tracy) of Stanley, NB; grandchildren, Kyle, Kristy, Jordan (Claudia), Kalleena and Delainey Hunter; sister, Camella Smith (Peter) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Harold and Vincent Hunter (Barb), both of Astle, NB; sister-in-law, Cathy Hunter of Boiestown, NB; brother-in-law, Vinnie Hunter of Oromocto, NB; aunt, Josephine Spates of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his sisters, Bertha Hunter, Ethel Allen, Mary Brown; and brother, Roy Hunter.
