Francis Duncan Hunter was born on 6 August 1885 at Young, in the Colony of New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of William Hunter and Marion Twist. ^[1]

He married Alma Rosa Cole on 23 October 1913 at St John’s Bishopthorpe, Glebe, New South Wales, Australia. ^[2]

He died on 4 July 1968 at Burwood, New South Wales, Australia and was buried at Woronora Memorial Park, Sutherland, Sutherland Shire, New South Wales. ^{[3] [4]}
