Place of birth (Oklahoma) is given in 1910 Census for Muskogee County, Oklahoma and 1920 Census for Mayes County, Oklahoma. Middle initial appears to be V in 1910 census. No middle initial is given in 1920.
In the 1930 Census for District 51 of Township 9 in Kern County, California, Elsie and her three sons are included in the household of her brother Arthur. She is listed with a last name of Reeves. No husband of hers is included in the household, but she is listed as having been married at age 18, and was 26 at the time the census was taken. She is not identified as a widow. Her sons are listed as: Raymond, age 5, Gordon, age 2 (and possibly 10 months), and Paul, 6 months. Raymond, like Elsie, was born in Oklahoma and the younger two boys in California. The record was taken April 15, 1930.
Her full middle name is known from her marriage license.
