This profile should be merged with the wife of Samuel Campbell... In either case the LNAB is incorrect in both instances. Ideally a new third profiles would be created to remove LNAB as Hunter. The evidence is it was a married name for her. Mary in Boston was the widow, not daughter, of James Hunter...her maiden name is UNKNOWN.

Biography

Mary was born about 1711. Note: This birth date does not line up with the ages of the children at James Hunter's probate. However, it is not clear if they were her children at all.

Note: the surname Hunter listed on this profile is incorrect. This inaccuracy stems from a Boston marriage record between "Samll. Camlett & Mary Hunter Dec. 9, 1731. It was later found in the New Hampshire state archives that Mary Hunter that married Samuel Campbell in Boston was the WIDOW of James Hunter of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and not his daughter. This would suggest her maiden name is unknown. Both Samuel and Mary were described in the probate as being from Boston.

Note: Mary was found at the probate of James Hunter of Londonderry, Ne Hampshire with her new husband Samuel Campbell. They are described as being from Boston. It is clear that she is the widow of James Hunter and NOT his daughter, and also it appears to have been his second marriage, first wife deceased. The source of a middle name of Elizabeth is unknown. It seems to be a fabrication.

Mary of Boston's birth and death dates are unknown. The only places there is any evidence of them is in Boston and Londonderry, New Hampshire and nowhere else. It is currently not known what happen to the couple after the Probate of James Hunter.

One researcher has suggested they may have gone north to Maine... No evidence of this has been found.

Hunter-6791 and Hunter-4286 need to be merged. Ideally a new third profile NOT listing her LNAB as Hunter would be created and both of these merged into the new profile. The reason is that it is now know she was the Widow of James Hunter and not his daughter as stated in James Hunter's probate. I will add as a source after the merge(s)... I cannot do it since I'm not on any of the trusted lists for these profiles...

ps I have no idea who this Margaret is. There is no Magaret listed as a child of either one of these couples, and there is no Margaret listed in James Hunter's probate.

I tried to correct a mistake when someone replaced her with another Mary. I hope I got it straight but am not sure.
