Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1901. Here is a story by her granddaughter.

“When June was divorced from her husband, June couldn’t handle her daughter, Elizabeth Huntington, and her son, Curtice Huntington so they were left in the care of their father’s parents until Elizabeth was about 12 when her parents were divorced. I don’t know where June went but she came back to visit her children when Elizabeth was about 12. Elizabeth came home from school and found this stranger in the parlor and went to the kitchen to ask her grandmother who the woman was, and her grandmother told her it was her mother. When June came the next time Elizabeth Huntington was scrubbing the kitchen floor and June was irate that her daughter should be doing it. That is when she and Curtice went to live with her mother for a short period of time. June took in laundry to earn a living and she rented a piano. But that was short lived and Elizabeth and Curtice went into foster care because the paternal grandparents won’t take them back. It isn’t known where June went at that time, but June later took care of her former father-in-law possibly. At some point later in life she lived by herself in a house without indoor facilities up in her nineties and finally had to move in with her daughter, Elizabeth Huntington. June did not live with her very long before she died. I believe June lived to be almost 90." She passed away in 1981.
