Research Notes

Disputed Ancestry: According to a family genealogy site which is not currently maintained, referencing Ancestry's One World Tree, Margaret Huntington was reportedly born about 1572, and was a daughter of Samuel Huntington and Margaret Crane. [6] However this reference is to a Margaret of an earlier generation than the wife of Thomas Barrett.

Possible Additional Daughter: Margaret b.abt 1647 (no other information on her). Diane Lane and Dan Barrett, Barrett family researchers identify her as a daughter of Thomas and Margaret Barret. Margaret is not in the list given in the Snow-Estes Genealogy.

By the way, the "Mrs Margaret Huntington" that SHW refers to in her comment is this profile: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Barrett-334

I support SHW's proposal to change her LNAB to Unknown. She also needs to be detached as daughter of Samuel Huntington-337.

I cannot find any quality source showing that her LNAB was Huntington; I've reviewed many of Torrey's sources (he said she was Margaret ______). I did find a source that shows a Mrs. Margaret Huntington in an article about Thomas Barrett. She apparently was born Barrett, ca 1595, and married first Simon Huntington. It is possible that people didn't read this article carefully enough to realize she was not purported to be the wife of Thomas Barrett. The article is by Hon. Joseph Hartwell Barrett, "Thomas Barrett of Braintree, William Barrett of Cambridge" in NEHGR Volume 42, page 257

I propose we change Margaret's LNAB to Unknown.

Removed incorrect mother who was married to a different Samuel Huntington

It seems doubtful that these are her parents. Both would have been over 60 years old when she was born. Also, Margaret Huntington, who is the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Crane) Huntington married John Ogden in 1592. See the source on Margaret (Crane) Huntington's profile.

Huntington-744 and Huntington-360 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same parents and the same sibling
