A Revolutionary War patriot Thomas Huntley settled on the South side of the middle prong of Jones' Creek in Gulledge Township. He acquired 850 acres of land by grant in Anson County.

Thomas and his wife, Sarah, may be buried in an unmarked grave on this property. 1
