Solomon Huntley was born on June 19, 1737, Lyme, New London County, in the Colony of Connecticut. He was the son of Samuel Huntley and Ruth Huntley.[1]
He is said to have fought in the French and Indian Wars and was killed in action on October 2, 1759 during the Campaign of 1759.

Solomon Huntley appeared in the Muster Roll for 1758, from Captain Timothy Mathers' 11th Company in the 3rd Connecticut Regiment (with Zebulon Butler of Lyme as 2nd Lieutenant). He enlisted on 28 May 1758, and was discharged on 31 Oct 1758.[2] According to a second Muster Roll dated 2 May 1759, at Lyme, he enlisted again the next year, this time in Captain Zebulon Butler's 9th Company in the 4th Connecticut Regiment, under the command of Eleazer Fitch, Esq. This document did not indicate how his service ended, whether he died or was discharged.[3]
