Biography

Lution was born in 1856. His parents were Adam Huntsman and Hannah Moot. He passed away in 1949.[1]

Lution lived in Clinton, Lincoln, Ontario in 1871.[2] He was a student at the Toronto Normal School.[3] He married Elizabeth Ann Gowanlock on 19 Sep 1879 in Toronto, York, Ontario.[4] They had five children, including:

  • Hazel Jane Huntsman - born 1880[5]
  • Helen May Huntsman - born 1882[6]
  • Archibald Gowanlock Huntsman - born 1883[7]
  • Sydney Maxwell Huntsman - born 1885[8]
  • Edward Trout Huntsman - born 1889.[9]

After the death of Elizabeth in 1892, Lution married R L Arminta Rump on 23 Feb 1897 in Clinton, Lincoln, Ontario.[10] They had five children, including:

  • Clarence Madison Huntsman - born 1897[11]
  • Drusilla Blanche Huntsman - born 1899[12]
  • Myra Huntsman - born 1901[13]
  • Nora R Huntsman - born 1902[14]
  • Ora L Huntsman - born 1902.[15]

After the death of Arminta in 1906, Lution married Louise Smart on 23 Mar 1907 in Beamsville, Lincoln, Ontario.[16] Louise was a student at the Beamsville Bible College where Lution taught. They had two children, including:

  • Lution Arnold Huntsman - born 1908[17]
  • John Franklin Huntsman - born 1910.[18]

"Lution E. Huntsman, lifelong resident of the Beamsville district, died at his home in that village on Sunday in his 93rd year. He was born in Clinton Township only a short distance from his late home and had resided in Beamsville for the last 42 years. In younger life he spent some years as a school teacher, later opening a grocery store in Beamsville."[19] Lution was actively involved in the Church of Christ.[20] He was a also a builder and built the Beamsville High School in 1917, designated a heritage property in December 2018.
