Biography
Mrs. CLARA B. JOHNSON, colored, wife of William H. Johnson, died at her home in Middletown Friday morning. Aged 72 years, and 10 months. She had been in declining health for some months, but had been ill only about four weeks. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Harper Hurd, of Middletown.
She is survived by her husband; a foster daughter, Audrey B. Cox, at home; and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Laura E. Gray, Middletown; Mrs. Lucy E. Skinner, and Hiram Hurd, Baltimore; Susie B. Hurd, Washington; Mrs. Lilie Walker and Stanley Hurd, Frederick; and Benjamin Hurd, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Services were held at the late home; interment in the Reformed Cemetery, Middletown; arrangements by the Gladhill Company Funeral Home, Middletown.[1]
