Clarissa Hurd was born about 1796. The Olmsted Genealogy gives her parents as Jabez and Abigail (Rice) Hurd. However, a Monroe County biography claims she was the daughter of Asa Hurd. [1][2] Her birth location is not clear. She reported that her father was born in Connecticut and her mother in New Hampshire. [3]
She married Harry Olmsted about 1811. [4] They made their home in Monroe County, New York, where fourteen children were born to them. [5]
In 1880, Clarissa was in the household of her son-in-law, “Wm Merels.” [6]
Clarissa died in 1886. A family sketch in a Monroe County history book gives her death as October 29, 1886, while Probate records give a date of November 30, 1886. [7][8]
She is buried in Falls Cemetery, Greece, Monroe County, New York. [9]
