Biography
Birth
Martha A. Hussey was born circa 1866 in Vichy, Maries County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Barfield Hussey and Miranda Chism.
1870 Census
In the 1870 census for Jefferson Township, Maries County, Missouri, Martha A. Hussey is shown at age 4, living in the household of her parents, Barfield Hussey age 50 and Miranda Hussey age 40, with siblings, William Hussey age 14, Catherine Hussey age 12, Sarah Jane Hussey age 10, Lenze Davis Hussey age 8, Leander Grant Hussey age 6, and Jackson Hussey age 1. Also living in the household was a boarder, William West age 35.[1] I calculated Martha's birthdate using this census (subtracting given age from census year), giving her a birthdate circa 1866, give or take a year.
1880 Census
In the 1880 census for Jefferson Township, Maries County, Missouri, Martha Hussey is shown at age 13, living in the household of her widowed father, Barfield Hussey age 55, with siblings, Catherine Hussey age 19, Linze Davis Hussey age 18, Sarah Jane Hussey age 17, Leander Grant Hussey age 16, and Jackson Hussey age 10.[2]

Martha A. Hussey married John Russell Bunton on November 2, 1886 at the home of John's brother, Isaac Bunton, in Maries County, Missouri.[3]
