Biography

Birth

Emiline Hussey was born about 1849 in North Carolina. She was the daughter of Miranda Chism, of North Carolina, and Barfield Hussey, of South Carolina.

On the 1850 Census for Montgomery County, North Carolina, Emiline Hussey is shown at age 1, living in the household of her parents, Barfield and Miranda Hussey, with her two brothers, James Hussey age 2 and John Hussey just 3 months of age.[1]

Listed on the same census are John and Eleanor Hussey, shown living in the following household. John and Eleanor Hussey are the grandparents to Emiline Hussey, parents to her father Barfield Hussey.[2]

The families of her father Barfield Hussey's siblings are also listed on the same census, in the household of Emiline Hussey's uncle Samuel Hussey and the household of her aunt Eleanor and, uncle by marriage, William Dunn.[3][4]
