Biography

Rene Jacques Husson (1635-1727) was a French Huguenot, who came to New Amsterdam in 1667. He was a French Interpreter and Secretary to Mayor Cornelius Steenwyck. [[[Steenwyck-3|Steenwyck-3]]]

Rene married Jannetje Van Schlectenhorst [1]

From Chris Lindsay: "The blood lines of Conrad Hussong reach far back into the early history of France to the Count David de Husson (1482-1543) who was raised in Lorraine, France and enobled by Francis I. This family of Husson remained in that are of France until 1665 or 1666, when Rene Jacques Husson, a French Huguenot, migrated to America and later married Jannetje Van Schlectenhorst. She was a daughter of Brandt Arentse Van Schlectenhorst, who arrived in America in 1647 from Holland. He was the Dutch Collector of Customs in New Amsterdam."
