Velma G. Klope

KLOPE, Velma G. - Age 84, passed away December 16, 1997 at her home in Riddle, Oregon. She was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on July 25, 1913 to Nathan Jess and Tessie Lee (Mathis) Husted. On October 13, 1933. she was united in marriage to James Klope in Ventura, California. They moved to Riddle in 1945. Velma has been active with the Rebekah Lodge and the Golden Key Club. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting, cake decorating and making corsages. She loved her family and her many friends and will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sons, James H. Klope, Jr., Gerald L. Klope and Lawrence E. Klope all of Riddle; nephews, Brian Husted of Oxnard, California; Mitchell Husted of Carpinteria, California; an aunt, Juanita Beal of Redlands, California; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 1 p.m. at Riddle Cemetery in Riddle, Oregon. Officiating will be Pastor E. Vance Culpepper. Memorial contributions may be made in Velma's memory to the Mercy Hospice, 2700 Stewart Parkway, Roseburg, Oregon 97470.
