Biography

Arthur L. Husted married Etha Smith, daughter of Mercie (Unknown) Smith and widow of ___ Meredith about 1892.^[1]

He witnessed the 1921 marriage of his daughter Lillian Belle Husted's marriage to Clifford Eads in Madison County, Iowa. The record gives his wife's name, Etha Smith.

Arthur and Etha's children

1. Eugene A Husted (b.a. 1886) is enumerated with the family in 1910, and is said to be son of head of household. He is not Etha's son.

Grandson John W. Eads, age 8, is enumerated with his grandparents Arthur and Etha in 1930.^[2]

Arthur Husted died in 1937. He is buried with Etha in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.^[3]

Research Notes

On Ancestry, Arthur L. Husted is erroneously connected as the great-grandson of Joseph & Mary Husted. There are in fact two Arthur Husteds born in Michigan within two years of each other. Arthur A. Husted, son of James Downes Husted and Mary Andrews, was born in 1856 and died in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1926. See findagrave.
