Biography
Ray Lazelle Husted was born 5 Jul 1882 in Tioga County, Pennsylvania the eldest son of Charles and Susan (Seeley) Husted.[1][2]
He married Caroline Cordelia Bentley, daughter of John A and Sarah Ella Bentley of Lewisburg, 28 Jan 1905 in Clinton, Pennsylvania.[3] Ray and Caroline had one son, R. (Rex) Bentley Husted born 5 Aug 1908 at Emporium, Cameron, Pennsylvania.[4]
Ray worked for the railroad and on 13 Mar 1913 in Emporium at the Climax switch he was badly injured when his coat caught while he was coupling two cars. His hips were crushed between the two cars. The physician reported that miraculously no bones were broken.[5] At the time of his retirement he was assistant yard manager in Olean, New York.[1]
Caroline died in 1928 after a two year illness.[6] Ray married a second time to Catherine G Delehunt on 9 Sep 1933 at Buffalo, New York.[7]
Ray Husted moved from Olean to Buffalo, New York in 1940 where he passed away 5 Oct 1944.[1]
