George Osmer Husted was born 23 Jun 1840 or 1841 (death certificate differs from other records) to Abraham and Anna (Rathbone) Husted.[1][2] He married Mary Howland, daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Rexford) Howland, in 1863.[2] By 1870 the family had moved to Chatham, Tioga County, Pennsylvania[3] and by 1880 to Deerfield in Tioga County[4] where George would live the rest of his life. He passed away 1 Jan 1925 in Deerfield, Pennsylvania following a short illness.[1]
Civil War Service, Union Army
Some records show George enlisted with the 107th NY Infantry Regiment 29 Jan 1862 however Town of Woodhull records show enlistment in Jul 1861.[5] He mustered out 27 Jan 1863 due to disability.[6] It is believed he served multiple enlistments due to varying records showing him as Sergeant[7] and Lieutenant and his burial record shows service from 1861-1865.[8]
