According to one (unsourced) family tree, Israel Hutchings was born in Cow Head, St. Barbe, ca 1860, to William Hutchings, and Mary Ann nee Payne[1].

Marriage

Israel Hutchings (bachelor, 22) married Sarah Ann Payne (spinster, 19), on June 2, 1883 in Cow Head. w. Agustus A. Bryant and Mary Anne Benoit[2]. The Loder website notes "Israel HUTCHINGS, age 22, bachelor and fisherman of Cow Head, son of William Hutchings, fisherman and Sarah Ann Payne, age 19, spinster of Cow Head, daughter of John Payne, fisherman. Married in the Cow Head School Chapel according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, By me Joseph J Curlign. This marriage was solemnized between us: The mark of X Israel Hutchings & the mark of X Sarah Ann Payne. In the presence of us: Augustus A Bryant, John Payne Jr, her mark X Mary Ann Benoit[1].
