Biography

Mary Hutchins is the daughter of Wyman Hutchins and Abigail Cutler. She was the first born of 8 children born in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut. She married John Sprague II in Killingly, Connecticut. They had 6 known children: Jonathan, Wyman, Isaac, Mary Polly, Chloe and john, though I suspect there were more. The family removed to Winhall Bennington VT about 1791 where she died 17 Jan 1798. [1] Her death record identifies her as the wife of John and his death record contans the same information. She is buried in Middletown Cemetery in Winhall next to him.

Her siblings include: Rebecca, Sarah, Isaac, Chloe, Patience, Amy & Wyman.

Note: There is a misconception that Dorothy Brown was the wife of John Sprague II but this was an error made by EG Sprague, the author of The Ralph Sprague Genealogy. All subsequent publications were based on that information and used it as a source.
