Biography
Geneva G. Hutchins Millsaps, age 88, of Austelle, GA and formerly of Hayesville, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at WellStar Tranquility in Austell, GA.
She was a native of Swain County, NC and the daughter of the late John Pearson and Eva Francis Hutchins. Geneva was a homemaker. She loved her family, singing and talking to others. Geneva enjoyed doing bead work and being around children.
In addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband, William Gardner Millsaps; a daughter Avis Christine Millsaps; brothers, Edward Hutchins and Alvin Hutchins; and sisters, Clarinda Hutchins, Esther Marie Morgan, Juanita Kirkland and Nettie Virginia Ledford.
She is survived by two sons, William Clinton Millsaps of Waynesburg, OH and Cameron Daniel Millsaps of Canton, OH; two daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Gray of Smyrna, GA and Irless Williams of Powder Springs, GA; two brothers,Thomas W. Hutchins of Chatsworth, GA; one sister, Frankie Stroud Martin of Andrews; one brother, Thomas W. Hutchins of Chatsworth, GA; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two step granddaughters and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. The Rev. Julia Buckner will officiate. Burial will be in the Hayesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Williams, Taylor Gray, Ronald Williams, Mike Morgan, Bruce Stroud and Tommy Ware.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Truett Childrens Home, c/o Truett Baptist Association, 2235 NC Hwy 141, Marble, NC 28905.
