Marshall reports that on 15 September 1688 in West River, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, she married Samuel Thomas, b. 1655, All Hallow's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, d. 1743, All Hallow's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland (Age 88 years) [1]
She married Samuel Thomas on 15 May 1688 at his own house in Anne Arundel Co, Maryland. [2]
She had previously been engaged to Thomas Smith. At the 2nd meeting of their "passing meeting" Thomas appeared and "discharged her of any ingagement whatsoever," so the meeting gave its consent to their marriage. [3][4][5][6]
Two dates given in West River Monthly Meeting records: 15 day, 3 mo., 1688, Mary Hutchings; and 15 day, 9 mo., 1688, Mary Hutchins. [7]

Samuel Thomas married Mary Hutchins of Calvert, whose mother was Elizabeth Burrage. Samuel Thomas was the son of Philip Thomas, who came to Maryland from Bristol, England, in 1651 and was granted five hundred acres, "Beckley" on the west side of the Chesapeake. [10]
1743 Will, Death, Estate
Mary wrote her will 10 Feb 1743 in All Hallow's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, but did not die until some time before her will was proved 25 Jul 1751. [1]
Balance of estate to be divided bet. my children: Phillip, Samuel, John, Elizabeth and Margaret, and I do bequeath to my 3 sons and 2 daus., ail the sd. remainder of estate to be equally divided amongst them.

Ann Harris, one of the witnesses to the foregoing will, who since intermarried with a certain Joseph Galloway, being a Quaker, solemnly affirmed that she saw Textatrix Mary Thomas, sign hex will. 28. 109 [1]
