Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Luther Hutto and Clara Still Hutto. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Prisoner of War. Surviving are his daughters, Alma Bodiford, Brenda Heath; stepdaughters, Dena Matthews, Peggy McKinney; son, O'Neal Hutto; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren
