Analysis

According to the Index of Quaker Records, THOMAS was born 20 December 1716, and was the son of JOSEPH HUTTON and MARY MILLER HUTTON.[1]

THOMAS' father and mother died in 1735 leaving children under the age of 21.[2] [3] In 1743, THOMAS HUTTON and brothers, JOHN and JOSEPH, petitioned the Probate Court requesting the court to order a division of their father's estate since the three orphan children of JOSEPH HUTTON had become of age.[4]

THOMAS HUTTON of New Garden township county of Chester son of JOSEPH HUTTON deceased and ELIZABETH HARRY of East Marlborough in Chester, daughter of EVAN HARRY deceased accomplished their marriage Intentions on the 9th day of 3 Mo. 1739.[5]

After ELIZABETH's death, THOMAS HUTTON of New Garden township (son of JOSEPH HUTTON Decd) and KATHERINE HIETT daughter of THOMAS HIET of the same place accomplised their Intentions of Marriage 13th day of 2. mo 1749.[7] Children born to KATHERINE noted in the index were:

  • ISAAC born 9-21-1754, died 4-23-1755
  • HIETT born 2-12-1756
  • THOMAS born 3-9-1758
  • JOHN born 12-19-1760

His Last Will and Testament written 22nd day of the third month 1786, and filed at Thornbury 15th April 1786. noted:

  • I Thomas Hutton of Newgarden in the county of Chester in Pennsylvania (Cooper)...Daughter MARY...son JOSEPH...daughter HANNAH...son JESSE...son HIETT...son THOMAS...son JOHN...son SAMUEL...nominate & appoint my esteemed friend & Kinsman JEREMIAH STARR & my Son HIETT HUTTON sole Executors...set my hand & seal this 22nd day of the Third month 1786...Witness by ISAAC JACKSON, JOHN BOYER, MARY JACKSON[8]

[The children listed in the will were noted as brothers and sisters in the Last Will and Testament of son, JOSEPH HUTTON, written in 1806 which recorded the married names of JOSEPH's sisters as MARY PERRY, and HANNAH THOMPSOM. Will is recorded on his profile.]
