Biography
Joseph Hutton was born in Wiltshire, England.
Joseph Hutton was baptised on 12 March 1677 at Brough. ton Gifford, Wiltshire. He was the son of John Hutton and his mother was probably Ann Jordan. [1][2]
Joseph married his first wife Susannah about 1697. They had three children:
- Joseph Hutton - Atworth 1698
- William Hutton - Atworth 1700
- Ann Hutton - Atworth 1701/02
Susannah was buried at Atworth on 11 July 1707 [3]
Joseph Hutton married Shusannah Shepherd or Susannah Shepperd at Atworth (or perhaps Holt) on 8 November 1710. [4] [5] There is one known child from this marriage
- John Hutton - Atworth 1712
Susannah died in 1721. No burial record for Joseph has been found.
Research Notes
There is also a baptism of Joseph Hutton at Melksham on 3 February 1682 but this makes him rather young to have children in 1698, [6]
