Biography

According to Quaker records, NEHEMIAH HUTTON was the son of THOMAS HUTTON and RACHEL LAYBORNE (Widow of JOSEPH LAYBORNED.)[1] The will of RACHEL MARCHANT LAYBORNE HUTTON does not show NEHEMIAH as a son.

At a monthly meeting at New Garden held the 13th of the 5th mos 1723, NEHEMIAH HUTTON and SARAH MILLER signified their intentions of marriage.[2] The monthly meeting at New Garden 10th day of 6th mo 1723, recorded:

ALBERT COOK MYERS published in his book, Immigration of the Irish Quakers into Pennsylvania, 1682-1750, a series of letters written by THOMAS HUTTON of Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland.[4] One of the letters mentioned several sons, and other families and should be noted. The letter noted as No. 1 and transcribed as printed was:

The Geneology records of Quakers in Berks County, Pennsylvania recorded NEHEMIAH died the 9th month of 1740 Maiden Creek.[5] [Berks County was created in 1751 from Philadelphia County]

A Land Warrant was issued to NEHEMIAH HUTTON for survey in Philadelphia County of 500 acres on 10 Nov 1733, and returned on 7 May 1741 Patentee listed as SARAH HUTTON.[6]

On the ninth day of the ninth month 1740, NEHEMIAH HUTTON set his hand and seal to his Last Will & Testament in which he noted:

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nehemiah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nehemiah:

It seems most likely that he was born in County Cavan. There are numerous records placing his father and his maternal grandfather there, and none placing the family in county Armagh.

You cite a Quaker record (presumably the Genealogical record, presumably this one https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discoveryui-content/view/2648808:2189?tid=&pid=&queryId=77f9d851-8994-4087-bb44-133089dc6e08&_phsrc=Ejw102889&_phstart=successSource - not a contemporary record and not entirely to be relied on) saying that his mother was Rachel. And yet you show his mother as Sarah.

Why?
