Biography

Eileen was the sixth and final child born to Dr. Brownlow North Hyatt and Mary Elizabeth Hodson, in 1889. Sadly, she would be orphaned within two years.

In 1891, she and brother Percy Hyatt were living with their uncle Dr. James Taylor Hyatt.

In 1901, her name was miscrecorded as "Lilian", and she lived with Percy and her aunt Susan Hodson, and one servant.

In the 1911 census, she was a 21 year old student at Bath St Michael, learning "Domestic Economy Cookery Laundry".

She kept up with her older sister Kathleen, who had been a Governess Student in London (and taught piano), and emmigrated to Canada in 1913.

She later married Percy Vigne in 1917, but did not have any children.

She was the beneficiary of her brother G B Hyatt's will upon his death in Ceylon in 1923.

In 1939, they lived on Cresswick in Burnham-upon-Sea, he by private means, she was unpaid domestic and nursing.

Her spouse died in 1954. At the time of her death, she owned Sandy Cottage, Maddocks Slade, in Burnham upon Sea, but died in the Grove Park Nursing Home, in Weston-super-mare. Her estate of 53,000 pds went to Lloyd's Bank in London.
