She was born in 1761 and was a great-granddaughter of John HYDE. She was the only daughter of Martha (Waterman) and Silas Hyde (or Hide) of Norwich, Connecticut. 
Rachel married on 25 Aug 1793 at Franklin, Connecticut and became the second wife of Eliphalet Dewey of Lebanon. 
Rachel died in Ohio at 83 years and was buried at Cadiz Union Cemetery, Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio.
