GAROLD E. HYDER SERVICES SUNDAY

Garold E. Hyder, age 53, died suddenly at his home in Comstock Thursday morning.

He was born August 17, 1886 in Gun Plains Township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hyder. He operated a meat market in Plainwell for many years. Mr. Hyder has been a resident of Comstock for the past two years and is a member of the Comstock I.O.O.F Lodge.

He was united in marriage in 1909 to Anna Webster who passed away in 1923 and in 1924 he was married to Edith Bellingham, who survives him, one son Dale, being born to this union.

He is survived by three sons, Louis of Otsego, Garold Jr. and Dale at home; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Earle, Mrs. June Parsons, and Mrs. Barabara Pallett of Plainwell. Two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Adams of Allegan and Mrs. Edna Ernst of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Sunday from the Baptist Church. Rev. A.G. Beard and the Comstock I.O.O.F Lodge had charge of the service. Interment at Hillside with arrangements by Marshall.

EX-MARKET OPERATOR AT PLAINWELL EXPIRES

Plainwell - Gerold Hyder, 53, former local market operator, died at his home at Comstock on Thursday. He was born in Gun Plains township, the son of Mr.[sic] and Mrs. Edwin Hyder. He moved to Comstock two years ago.

He is survived by the widow, three sons, Louis of Otsego and Gerold, Jr., and Dale[sic] at home; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Earl, Mrs. June Parsons and Mrs. Barbara Palle of Plainwell; two sisters, Mr.s Minnie Adams of Alamo and Mrs. Edna Ernst of Grand Rapids, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday at the Plainwell Baptist church under the auspices of Comstock IOOF of which he was a member. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Plainwell. [6]
