Biography

Harry was born on 11 October 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Harry F Ide and Violet Diem. ^[1]

I've been working on genealogy since the early 1990's, when my aunt developed a dementia, and I realized that if I didn't collect family stories and information, they'd be lost. I started working on the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry not long after that, when I heard a family story that someone had served in the regiment, and I thought giving my young son a personal connection to the war might make history more vivid for him. It worked--but I became fascinated by the regiment and am still studying it. ^[2]
