FATAL ACCIDENT
Mr. Herbert Idiens' End
Mr. H. Idiens, of "Yamboola," Eugowra, met with a fatal accident last Thursday week, when he was trapped for three hours between a tractor and a duck-foot cultivator. He suffered severe bruises and contusions about the hip and body before he was released by his wife, in a semi-conscious condition. The accident occurred when, in attempting to adjust a broken drawbar, Mr. Idiens accidently released the brake, causing the tractor, which was on a slope, to run back. Mrs. Idiens found him in this position, when she arrived with his lunch at one o'clock. Fortunately she was able to drive the tractor, which was still running, and so release him. Mrs. Idiens then rang the Eugowra Ambulance, which arrived at the scene of the accident in a very short time. Mr. Idiens was admitted to the Canowindra S.M. Hospital. He was later taken to Orange for medical treatment, but was beyond help and passed away at Orange on Tuesday, March 2. He is survived by his wife, there being no children.
