Note N40The 14 children of Michael Ely and Mary Regina Kissner were baptized in the Bindnagel Church, near Palmyra. Michael's will was written 13 Sep 1816, probated on 24 Dec 1819, and a settlement was reached in 1834.

There were three Ely/Eley/Ealy/Ihle families in the Washington County, Pennsylvania area approximately the same time, who intermarried with several German families there, according to Raymond Martin Bell.
1. Michael Ely Jr (1750-abt.1830) - first record Ohio Co (VA) (now Washington Co) 1778 tax list - came to Buffalo Twp c1775 - blacksmith - b c1750 m c1775 likely Christina Wolf (1754-aft.1822) (dau of Peter) Wolf of Hanover Twp, (then) Lancaster Co - left for Ohio c1799 - d c1830 Morrow Co, Ohio
2. Michael Ely (Ili) Sr (abt.1745-1819) - first record 1773 Lebanon Twp, (then) Lancaster Co - lived Londonderry Twp until 1790 - baptismal record of children at Bindnagle Church, Londonderry Twp - came to Buffalo Twp 1790 - farmer - d 1819 Buffalo Twp - b c1745 m c1772 Mary Regina (Black) Ely (1714-1816) —
3. Johann "George" Ealy (Ihle) (1744-abt.1830) - first record 1773 Lebanon Twp, (then) Lancaster Co - child baptized Hain Church, Heidelberg Twp, Berks Co 1774 - to Pine Grotte Twp, (then) Berks Co, (now) Schuylkill Co c1775 - on 1779-85 tax lists - 1807 to (now) South Franklin Twp, Washington Co - 1822 to East Finley Twp - miller - d 1830 - m c1771 Eva Christina (Strosnider) Ely (1746-1832) (Strohschneider), living 1830.
How these men were related is not known. The children of Michael Sr are named in baptismal records. George named his children in order in his will , so their birth dates can be determined.[9]
