Biography

William Ikeler was born on January 4, 1778 in New Jersey, United States, son of Wilhelm Eichler (1753–~1808) and Elizabeth Barnhardt ( –1815). He was baptized May 28, 1778, in Greenwich, Warren, New Jersey.

He was a farmer there, then moved with his brothers and uncle to Greenwood, Columbia, Pennsylvania, to farm on land purchased by his father.

In 1825, William and his wife Sarah consolidated their share of his father's land under his brother Andrew Ikeler.[1]

William died on August 26, 1860 in Mount Pleasant, Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 82.
