Research Notes

  • "Lately I’ve been going through my leafy hints on Ancestry and the last couple of days it has been Kitty Ratcliff (nee Illidge) turn. I have attached the update to her branch of the family in the Illidge Family Tree and also the text I have on them. Going by the census It appears that they were living in Cardiff, Wales for a few years as a couple of their children were born there. They then moved back to Staffordshire again. Many years ago I was told the spelling of their surname was Ratcliffe. However I notice in all the records in Ancestry their name is spelt Ratcliff so I’ve removed the e in all my records. "
