Capt. Anthony Dike, Sr. (1600-1638) was my 10th Great Grandfather. He was born in Gravesend, Kent, England and departed from Portsmouth, England on the ship Anne and landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1623. He later became Captain/Commander of the Blessing of the Bay, the second oceangoing, non-fishing vessel built in colonial America by the funds of John Winthrop, Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He took an active part in the Pequot War bringing reports to Roger Williams, Governor of Colony of the Rhode Island/Providence Plantations and carrying a letter from Governor Henry Vane of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Anthony later died in a shipwreck at sea off the coast of Cape Cod in 1638. I Can verify all of this through genealogical records and DNA evidence. (Sorry for the duplicate comment ^^)

My 8th grandfather was John Bishop that arrived on the St. John on May 20, 1639 and was one of the founders of Guilford, CT. Is there a passenger list for this ship. I know the captain was Richard Russell and they sailed from London in the latter part of April 1639.

I'm looking for the passenger list of a ship that brought Sarah Ruggles Lyon to Massachusetts in 1637. She was the child of Thomas Ruggles and Mary Curtis Ruggles. Sarah was born in Nazeing, Essex England either in 1627 or 1629. Sarah subsequently married William Lyon at a very young age (14?).
Unfortunately, there are very few passenger lists that still exist (or have been found) from the 1600's, almost four hundred years ago. Some lists from 1635 were found, so we know that her brother, John, came on the Hopewell in 1635, but it is unknown what ship the other Ruggles traveled to New England on in 1637.
