Every year in July, Madalena do Mar (in Madeira, Portugal) celebrates one of the most important local products with the Regional Banana Exhibition. Owing to the fact that Madeira’s biggest banana plantations are found here the Festival, which serves to promote the product and old traditional practices, is recognized as a major cultural event. Visitors can enjoy great entertainment, banana sampling and traditional delicacies.

Dried fruit candy is one of the marvelous treats available. Madeira Fruit is a combination of indigenous plants, and fruit plants/trees brought in from other countries.
