George, the son of Jesse Ingersoll and Sarah B. Kelley was born in 1846 at Racine, Wisconsin. His parents were from Canada.
In 1850, George was 4 years of age and residing with his parents Jesse (41 years) and Sarah (34 years) and siblings William (13 years, b. Canada), John (11 years, b. Canada), Julia A. (9 years, b. Canada), James (7 years, b. Canada), Charles (5 years, b. WI) and Lewis (2 years, b. WI) at Raymond, Racine, Wisconsin.[1]
The 1900 census indicates that George, 49 and single, occupation Farmer was Head of House. Residing with him were Mina (Burt) Gregory (25 years, occupation Housekeeper) her son Braton C Gregory (7 years) and two servants Walter R. Myers (20 years, b. IL) and Charles Whitney (18 years, b. MN) at Fremont, Winona, Minnesota.[2]
Marriage and Children
George married as his first wife, Wilhelmina "Mina" (Burt) Gregory, the daughter of Charles Henry and Mary M. (Baldwin) Burt on 14 September 1905 at Winona, Winona, Minnesota.[3]There were no children from this union.
In 1920, George was 73 years of age and living with his wife "Minnie" (44 years), brother-in-law Edward C. Burt (48 years, occupation Farming), his wife Alice (40 years) and children Jerald (17 years) and Richard (12 years) at Utica, Winona, Minnesota.[4]
Death and Burial
George H. Ingersol died on 29 January 1929 in his 83rd year at Winona,[5] and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Winona, Winona, Minnesota.[6]
