Arthur was born before 1857. Son of Arthur Henrie Ingersoll and Harriet Skinner. Arthur and Amelia were farmers. They lived two years in Illinois and five years in Lee County, Iowa, before moving to Osage Pct., Johnson County, Nebraska, in 1882. At that time, this land was sparsely settled and mostly prairie. They experienced the usual hardships of drought and grasshoppers and the encouragement of years of good crops. In 1925, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. [1]
