Biography
Floyd B. Ingersoll was born on 15 January 1902 in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States to William Henry Ingersoll and Lucy A. (Elliott) Ingersoll. [1]
In 1910, Floyd was living in Springfield, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States with his parents and siblings. [2]
Floyd's mother passed away in 1912.
Floyd attended school through third grade. [3]
In 1930, Floyd was living in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States in the household of his brother, Roy, along with Roy's wife, Rose, and their children. Floyd was working as a road laborer. [4]
Floyd married Nina Town. In 1940, Floyd and Nina were living in Boardman Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States with their children, Lucy L. Ingersoll, Floyd D. Ingersoll, and Lyle G. Ingersoll. Floyd was working as a road construction laborer, and Nina worked in the home. [5]
On 16 February 1942, Floyd registered for the United States World War II draft. He was living in Boardman, Kalkaska, Michigan United States and working for the W.P.A. Floyd was described as being 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and a light brown complexion. [6]
In 1950, Floyd and Nina were living in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan with their children, Lucy Ingersoll, Lyle Ingersoll, and Floyd Daniel Ingersoll, as well as a foster son, Maurice Root. Floyd worked 40 hours per week as a racker for an auto parts manufacturer. Nina worked in the home. [7]
Floyd passed away on 7 May 1972 in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan, United States. [8][9] He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan, United States. [10]
Floyd's obituary reads: "Floyd B. Ingersoll, age 70, of 319 W. 11th St., Traverse City passed away Sunday at the Munson Medical Center.
Surviving are his wife, Nina; a daugher, Lucy; three sons, Thomas, Floyd (Dan) and Lyle Ingersoll of Traverse City; a foster son, Maurice A. Root in the armed services in Thailand; a brother, Harry Ingersoll of Kalkaska; and 11 grandchildren.
He was born January 14, 1902 in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, the son of William and Lucy Ingersoll. He was married to Nina Towne May 1, 1933 in South Boardman. Mr. Ingersoll moved to Traverse City in 1943 and worked for Parts Manufacturing Company until his retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Martinson Funeral Home in Traverse City with Rev. Joseph Garshaw officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery." [11]
