Biography

Dorothy was born about 1796. The daughter of Maurice and Dorothy Ingle, she was baptized at Colsterworth on August 2, 1776.^[1]

John Abbott married Dorothy Ingle on April 28, 1819 at Colsterworth.^[2][3]

In 1841, John and Dorothy Abbott and children were living in Colsterworth. Father John was a draper in Colsterworth, Lincolnshire.^[4]

In 1851 John and Dorothy along with their 18 year old son, John, were living on High Street in Colsterworth. Son George and his family were living in the house next door.^[5]

In 1861 Dorothy, now widowed, was living with her married daughter, Ann Piccaver, and her family in Castle Bytham.^[6]

In 1871, 74-year-old Dorothy, now an annuitant, was living in Colsterworth with a servant, Catherine Garram.^[7]

Dorothy died on October 13, 1877, at Colsterworth. Her will was proved on December 31 with her son, George Abbott of Colsterworth, and John Northern Piccaver of Rutland County named as executors.^[8] She was buried on October 17, 1877, at Colsterworth.^[9]
