Mary Hindman

Born: July 4, 1922 Died: November 5, 2010 Age: 88 years old Mary B. Hindman 88, of Pekin passed away Friday November 5, 2010 at 1:30 am at her residence, surrounded by family. She was born July 4, 1922 to William and Rose Insalico Ingolia in Peoria, IL. She married Harold Hindman on January 10, 1953 in Pekin, he preceded her in death on September 5, 1988. Her parents, and two brothers; Doninic “Dom” Ingolia and Santo “Sam” Ingolia also preceded her. She leaves behind four children; Barbara (Michael) Polson of Groveland, Brian Hindman of Pekin, Rebecca (Louis) Reeise of Pekin, Lisa (James) Kalusa of Green Valley, six grandchildren; Nathan Polson of Hopedale, Justin (Ainsley), Trent (Tabitha) and Brice Reeise of Pekin, Mary Ann and Jimmy Kalusa of Green Valley. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren; Addison, Ethan, Tristan and Lainey Reeise. Mary was a first generation American, both of her parents came to America from Sicily, Italy. She and her husband built a loving and solid foundation where they raised their children. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. Before marrying her husband she worked for Sommer Brothers Seed Company. In 1965 she was asked to work for a “few weeks” as the Tazewell County States Attorney’s Secretary. She loved this job and stayed for 21 years retiring in 1986. The people that she worked for and with stayed near and dear to her. She was a lifetime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where she was a member of the Altar Society and The Council of Catholic Women. Her hobbies included; volunteering at St. Joseph’s School Library, and Pekin Hospital. She loved to travel, bowling, reading, and keeping in touch with her family and friends. She loved watching the Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs play ball even when they wouldn’t listen to her coaching them! A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday November 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin at 10 am. Father Jim Pankiewicz will officiate. A Visitation will be held Tuesday November 9, at Abts Mortuary in Pekin from 4 to 6 pm. In Lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials contributions be made to OSF Hospice, St. Joseph Catholic School or Tazwood Mental Health Center.
