Raised in Craven and Regina.

Joined the Navy at some point in his young life and made it his career. Married first in 1925 and had 5 children, born in Victoria BC. Married second Pat Emmert in Coronation Alberta about 1960's. At outbreak of World War II he was a Petty Officcer in the Canadian Navy and spent the war years on destroyer convoy duty in the North Atlantic. Was torpedoed three times and survived all three. Discharged from the Navy and spent time in Coronation, Alberta where he met his second wife who was a sister of a shipmate of his. 1 Notes E E Haynes.
