George was born in 1846. He is the son of Thomas Ingram and Christina Anderson.

George married Helen Taylor in Methlick in 1873.

He should not be confused with the other George Ingram of Gamrie born in 1845 (who married Mary Ann Byers in 1868). The former is shown in 1871 still unmarried and living with parents Thomas and Christian.
