Biography

Private Samuel Ingram served in the United States Civil War.
Enlisted: October 25, 1863
Mustered out: May 1865

Samuel Ingram was born in 8 April 1839 most likely in Pike co., Alabama and was the son of Green Ingram and Salina Hammonds.[1] In 1860, Samuel was living in Butler Co., Alabama[2] and when the Civil War began, Samuel, like many men in Alabama, joined the Confederate Army. He was twenty-four years of age when he enlisted on 25 October 1863 in Butler co., Alabama and was a Private in Company I, 6th Alabama Cavalry.[3] His younger brother, John Ingram, also served in this same company. This regiment was included in the surrender of the Department of Alabama, Mississippi and East Louisiana in May 1865.

He passed away in 1908.
