Biography

Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres was a prominent French Neoclassical painter.

He was born on 29 August 1780 in the parish of Saint-Jacques in Montauban. He was the son of Jean Marie Joseph Ingres and Anne Moulet. He married Delphine Ramel on 15 April 1852 in Versailles.[1]
