The Inman Compendium Entry
Witten by Diane Inman
Henry was a farmer who served in the Revolutionary War. He came from Maryland to Westmoreland County. Henry married Esther Powers. Then he and Abram Powers and Abram's five sons and John Leland (who married a Powers - maybe sister or daughter of Abram) and their families embarked on a flatboat on the Monongahela River near RedStone, intending to migrate to Kentucky.
They went as far down the Ohio as the mouth of the Beaver River where they spent the winter of 1793-4 on an island in small cabins. They had intended to journey on in the spring, but liking the countryside, decided to stay.
This family settled in the vicinity of Fort McIntosh - what is now the town of Darlington. In 1793, they moved into what is now Chippewa Township, Beaver County. The land was then part of Allegheny County. They became the first white settlers no rth of the Ohio in what became Beaver County in 1800.
Henry owned acreage in what is now Brady's Run Park. He was a founding father of the Chippewa Methodist Church in Chippewa Township, Beaver County, PA. This church celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1996. Henry and Esther are buried in the Ol d Stone Church Methodist Cemetery.

Hi Bonnie, I went through all the sources one by one and kept anything that went to an actual record (or referred to a book, etc.). There were a number of links to Ancestry.com repositories where you could search records, but they weren't links to actual records pertaining to the profile. Feel free to email me any links you have for sources and I would be happy to add them. I have a full subscription to Ancestry so I can follow any link to it.
He is one of my 5th great grandfather's on my dad's side, proven by 2 separate DNA tests.
Also I have a load of Sources in the perposed and requested merge.
